Experience & Education
Education: B.S. Degree in Interior Design from CSU
2001 - 2004
I graduated from CSU in the Summer of 2004 with a GPA of 3.8. (FIDER Accredited) I loved learning about the history of interiors, furniture pieces from all eras, and creating my own designs for mock clients. I had a professor at the school tell me that if you don't pursue the industry, it will suffer for it. What an amazing compliment. Favorite things to learn about were of color, lighting, and space planning.
Job Position: Business Design Manager
2018 - 2020
Have you ever had a problem you needed help with and wish you could hand it to someone and make it all happen? That was my focus in this position. If something went wrong in a project I'd come in collaborate with our tradesman and come up with a solution and then execute it. I had a great working standard with all our trades. We worked as a team to create a beautiful outcome. I managed 7 designers, and 2 interns in my time with the company and learned so much in how to communicated and what it takes to make a team great. I was hands on in the retail showroom we had and the flow of the space. I was also very interactive with all our vendors and reps, creating relationships that last. Multitasking was essential and found that being a mother of two boys had trained me for this type of career. I loved my time with everyone in this company and had learned even more about myself and skills. No matter what was thrown to me, I found a way to answer the call. I was truly blessed for the opportunity to work there.
Job Position: Lighting Designer
2004-2006
I learned all I could about product, what they did, and which one was the best for the given situation. I learned about placement of fixtures, what they can do for the effects of the space, and the ability to change the environment with the push of a button. I love how color and light works well with each other. A space can be transformed from dull and boring to alive and dramatic with the pairing of light and color.
